Frequently Asked Questions
Do you perform Polish music?
Yes, Polish music – from Chopin to the present day – is a very important part of our repertoire. We are among the Prize Winners of The Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów, and our debut album includes a piece by the Krakow composer Artur Malawski.
Do you perform contemporary music?

Yes, our studies at Kunstuniversität Graz, a center famous for its focus on contemporary music, broaden our horizons and skills in this area. We would be happy to work with composers as performers or session musicians.

Do you play only in a trio?

No. We are professionally active musicians, which means we are very active outside of the Trio Legend: Agnieszka co-creates the award- winning Książek Piano Duo with her husband Krzysztof Książek, Monika performs in a piano duo with Piotr Filek, an excellent cello duo with her husband Jakub Gajownik, and from time to time she also plays in a duo with Krzysztof, who, as a musician of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, also takes part in various chamber ensembles, including a duet with pianist Eligiusz Skoczylas.

Is it possible to perform on one stage with you?

Yes, we are open to possibilities of cooperation with instrumentalists and vocalists. We create our own arrangements of pieces and constantly expand our repertoire, mainly with piano quartets and quintets. It was playing together in a quintet that was the basis for the creation of Trio Legend.

Do you announce your own performances?

Yes. The verbal interaction with the audience reduces, in our opinion, the distance between the performers and the audience, helps to engage them and facilitates understanding of the music being performed. Carefully prepared announcements are always appreciated by our audience.

Do you give educational concerts?

Yes, our wide repertoire allows us to select pieces/movements that will show, for example, the transformation of the piano trio genre over the centuries. More information about the repertoire can be found here -> repertoire

Do you perform in other countries?

Yes, we are very interested in promoting Polish music outside our country. In July we perform at a concert in Graz (Austria), in August in Wengen (Switzerland) and in October at a festival in Basel, where apart from Schubert’s masterpieces we are going to perform Polish music.

What language can you speak with us?

We speak English, German and French, which makes communication easier when organizing foreign concert events. We are also able to make speaking concerts in these languages.
